Gentle Vets Hawaii is home for many experienced veterinarians. Dr’s Joseph and Mariel Edhlund are accomplished veterinarians who come to East Oahu from the island of Guam where they were known for their legendary client service and lifesaving veterinary medicine. East Oahu and Honolulu residents are rapidly coming to know the caring and quality of veterinary service these veterinarians provide. Gentle Vets has rapidly becoming a leading private veterinary practice on Oahu. Dr. Joe Edhlund’s concern for the extended Pacific Community is well known. In 2002, Dr. Joe, with support of the Rotary and other concerned people and organizations of Guam, used his airplane to fly emergency relief to the outer islands of Yap, saving numerous lives in the process. For his work he was awarded official governmental recognition by the Yap State Government and the Guam Medical Society. He continued his humanitarian work by providing extensive assistance to the people of Sumatara in the wake of the Super Tsunami of December 26, 2004. When Super-Typhoon Haiyan smashed into the Philippines in 2013 Drs. Edhlund immediately organized a relief trip to Palawan to assist in recovery efforts.

He learned this attitude by doing his residency training at the Gentle Vets University for Dogs where he observed the caring attitude of the veterinarians and staff at Gentle Vets. His exuberance in greeting clients and patients is unmatched. He also offers free leash training to any recalcitrant leash walkers. You can be sure Doc will be keeping an eye on your pet to make sure everything comes out right!
